Aroma Cosmetics gave the casus to the finals of the Olympiad in Marketing 2016
On 14 and 15 May 2016, the National Olympiad in marketing, NOM 2016, was held in Sofia. It was organized for a fourth consecutive year by the Department of "Marketing and Strategic Planning" of the University of National and World Economy.
Every year, a leading company provides the casus that the best students in marketing, reaching the finals of the Olympiad, must solve. This year, the invitation to provide the casus was addressed to Aroma Cosmetics.
11 teams from 6 universities - UNWE, Economic Academy "D. Tsenov" - Svishtov, University of Economics - Varna, New Bulgarian University, Plovdiv University Paisius of Hilendar and Southwestern University "Neofit Rilski" - Blagoevgrad, participated in the event.
The opening was attended by professors from various universities, together with their teams. The Olympiad was opened by the rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Stati Statev. Present were also Prof. Dr. Simeon Zhelev, dean of the faculty "Management and Administration", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pencho Ivanov, head of the department "Marketing and Strategic Planning", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Mladenova, many professors of all the universities, students and guests.
For us at Aroma, the Olympiad in marketing is an opportunity to partner with the universities, to help students to be more motivated and better prepared in their first career steps, to participate in the "cultivation" of specialists that are able to help the business and help themselves.
The jury of Aroma, with chairman Sofia Popova - Group Brand Manager, and members Polimira Miteva - PhD Candidate - brand manager for Astera brand and Antonia Pashova - National Key Client Manager, selected the team that coped best with the task, which was in the field of developing a new product line and its introduction in the market. That was the team of New Bulgarian University, Team 1, with members Anna Dimitrova, Ilian Dimitrov and Kristina Ivanova and heads Assistant Stefania Temelkova and Assistant Dr. Dimitar Trendafilov.
The casus, which we gave for the finals of the National Olympiad in Marketing 2016 was very difficult. The competition between the teams of the different universities was heated and to choose the team with the best solution was not easy at all. This year, all participants showed an extremely high level of training.
At "Aroma Cosmetics" we pay great attention to professional education and we have explicit priorities in this area. We have an internship program that gives students the opportunity to experience the magic of "beauty." The program is for different departments of the company and we rely on it very much. Many colleagues that work with us today have started their career development as our trainees.
