Beauty tips with pomegranate

Once, long ago, Aphrodite planted the first pomegranate tree in the land of Cyprus. And because of the beauty of the goddess herself, the scarlet grains of the plant, acquired astounding beauty properties...

Searching for a germ of truth in the legend, many scientists continue to study the mysterious fruit and keep discovering more and more interesting facts about it.

It has been found that an average pomegranate contains as much as 30 mg of vitamin C – an amount sufficient to meet 50% of the daily requirement of the body. But this vitamin is not by far the only valuable component of the fruit. Inside the juicy seeds of the pomegranate a unique combination of 124 different phytochemicals is concealed, which extends the life of fibroblasts (the cells responsible for the production of collagen and elastin) and, according to a surveys by a modern Spanish laboratory, inhibits the oxidation of human DNA, thanks to which it is even more effective in slowing down aging.

Therefore, freshly squeezed pomegranate juice possesses much more than its gastronomic value and deserves a place in your daily beauty routine. But how to utilize best this "elixir of youth"?

Perhaps, you, like most people, think that to separate the seeds from the rind of a pomegranate is difficult. But you’ll be surprised how easy the peeling of the juicy fruit actually is, as long as you apply the following quirk:

Cut the fruit in half. Place one half in your hand with the grains pointing to your palm, and hold it above a bowl, then with a wooden spoon or spatula start hitting vigorous on the bark of the pomegranate. Done! Seeds will fall in the bowl between your outstretched fingers.

Face mask with pomegranate and honey

With most of the separated grains you can nourish your skin from the inside out, turning them into juice. And with a teaspoon of it, combined with little natural honey, you can prepare nutritious face mask. Leave it for 20-30 minutes, so it can take effect, then wash your face with lukewarm water.

Body scrub with pomegranate

Do not rush to throw away the bark! It has excellent cosmetic properties, too. Cut it in small pieces and let them dry in the sun. Several days later, when the moisture is completely evaporated, grind them to a fine powder. Part of the powder put in the next body scrub, while the remaining amount you could save for future use in a tightly closed container.

Mix a small amount of the dried pomegranate with brown sugar and add a carrier component of your choice - honey, yogurt or unrefined vegetable oil, in order to obtain a suitable consistency. Rub the mixture into your skin, concentrating particularly on calloused areas, such as elbows, knees and heels. Remove the exfoliant with lukewarm water and apply your favorite body lotion.

Beauty ritual with pomegranate and henna from Morocco

Next time you decide to apply henna on your hair, you can diversify the procedure, using one of the beauty recipes of Moroccan women. For this purpose, instead of dissolving the henna in clean water, use water in which you have boiled the bark of 1 pomegranate. Besides giving a specific shade of the dye, the potion acts as an astringent that shrinks the pores around the hair follicles and thus reduces hair loss. After about 2 hours, rinse off the “improved” henna and fix the color using a shampoo with pomegranate extract.

Combine the natural beauty recipes with appropriate cosmetic products with pomegranate - pomegranate shampoo and shower gel with pomegranate.
